Amira Palos (PYP Afternoon Teacher & Teaching Assistant)

I grew up in Bosnia, in a beautiful village near the town Tuzla. I am the first out of three daughters. Always being a quiet, romantic soul that I am, a nature lover and a real book worm, led to studying English language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tuzla.

After finishing teaching training and getting my teaching license, I worked as an English teacher in an elementary school for five years. That was a great challenge for me, but at the same time a wonderful experience, because I discovered my passion and love for working with children.

During that time, I worked with pupils from 1st to 9th grade, had extracurricular activities such as English Drama Club. Since I wanted to improve my teaching skills and methods, I attended numerous seminars and workshops. Teaching means constant learning, and I am ready to learn some more.

Five years ago, I got married and moved to Austria, Klagenfurt. One year later, I became a mother of a wonderful baby girl Nadja, and that is the title I am most proud of. Being in a room with one child, was sometimes more challenging for than being in a classroom full of teenagers. In my free time, I like reading, cooking, being outdoors and spending time with friends.

Now is the time for me to go back to my passion of being a teacher, and enter the classroom again. I am very fortunate to be accepted in an ISC team, because I fully believe in a pedagogical concept of ISC.

Meeting Time: By appointment. Please e-mail Ms. Palos directly.
